5 a.m. mornings are worth it when it’s to support our philanthropy Autism Speaks! Stopping to grab a quick cup of coffee at Starbucks, the ladies of Alpha Xi Delta headed out to Green Lake bright and early this morning to set up for our annual 5K. This year we as a chapter raised over $25,000, which is something to be celebrated and is absolutely amaxing! Within a couple of hours, the food tables were set up, the balloon arch was good to go, the balloon puzzle piece was stable, and music was blasting as friends, family, and alumnae began to show up. Members of Alpha Xi Delta dispersed in groups around green lake to cheer on the runners (also the walkers) and let me tell you, the energy from the girls as well as the participants was invigorating! I know all of us current members took so much joy in all the smiles, dancing, supportive family members, friends, and alumn, (as well as all the dogs) today! It was also beautiful and sunny and we couldn’t have asked for better luck with that! So thank you to everyone who came to support us, thank you to my fellow xisters for putting on such a great event, and most importantly shout out to Kyla Morgan our philanthropy chair for everything she did for this event! It wouldn’t have been possible without her and her enthusiasm led to such a successful and positive day!
